Silence. That’s what Cassie craved, that’s what she needed most, but it was rare and almost nonexistent in her life. The stars seemed to scream at her tonight, so she avoided looking up at all as she strolled listlessly through the empty streets of middle-of-the-night London. The air was colder now, and it soothed her as she walked, though her body was on the verge of shivering and she hated that.
Cassie almost didn’t notice the police box standing on the corner, so out of place but blending in all the same, though when she realised it was there she stopped instantly. She walked slowly towards the thing, sticking out a shaking hand to stroke the blue wood, the machine seeming to purr beneath her touch.
"Look at you." She whispered softly, examining the TARDIS with wonder.
